Tour Itinerary
Day 1:
Upon arrival in Cairo our representative who will assist you through passport control formalities, luggage identification & portage will greet you. Transfer from the airport via private A/C car or mini-bus to your hotel for check in and overnight.
Day 2:
Today starts with a visit to the Egyptian museum of antiquities. On display is a rare collection of 5000 years of art — the largest most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world, including an exhibit dedicated to the Tut-Ankh-Amon collection of treasures, gold, and jewelry, as it was when his tomb was excavated.
In the afternoon is a tour of the Citadel and Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali, which was built in Turkish style, very similar to the Blue Mosque in Turkey.
At the end of the day return to hotel or independent visit to the Khan El Khalili Bazaars. Shops in this district are legendary for fine brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, antiques and more! Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3:
Today is dedicated to a full day of antiquities, starting with a drive to Sakkara to see the Step Pyramid - the first pyramid to be built and the surrounding monuments. Your guide will provide a detailed history on Imhotep, the Egyptian architecture who created this pyramid and how he accomplished this major undertaking. Next is a visit to the Pyramid of Teti.
Next is a visit to the open air Museum at Memphis where the Colossus of Ramses the II, the largest statue of Ramses the Great and see the Alabaster Sphinx alongside.
In the afternoon a guided tour in Giza to visit the legendary majestic Pyramids of Cheops, Cherfrern and Mykerionos to view these spectacular man-made monuments.
Finally a tour of the great Sphinx; guarding the Royal Burial Chambers and temple of Cheops. Return to hotel and overnight in Cairo.
Day 4:
Breakfast and check out of hotel. Transfer to airport and board flight to Abu Simbel.
Arrive early morning in Abu Simbel and tour the Temples of Abu Simbel. In the afternoon return to Aswan and check in to hotel. Overnight in Aswan.
Day 5:
Breakfast and check out of hotel. The morning is free except for check in to the Nile cruise ship - your home for the next five days. In the afternoon sail to Elephantine Island by felucca boat & visit the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Overnight onboard in Aswan.
Day 6:
Following breakfast the day starts with a visit to the High Dam and the Temple of Philae before sailing to Kom Ombo. Upon arrival in Kom Ombo you will take an off shore excursion to see the temple dedicated to Sobek the Crocodile god and Haroeris the winged god. Continue sailing to Edfu. Overnight onboard.
Day 7:
Following breakfast the day starts with another excursion in Edfu to visit the Temple of Horus. Then continue sailing to Esna and cross the locks. Continue sailing to Luxor. Overnight onboard in Luxor.
Day 8:
Following breakfast the day starts with a visit to the exciting ancient sites on the West Bank including the two mammoth statues of Amenophis II at the Colossi of Memnon; Queen Hatshepsut Temple, the Tomb of Tut Ankh Amun and the "City of Dead" - Valley of Kings. Overnight onboard in Luxor.
Day 9:
Breakfast and disembarkation. The day starts with a visit to Tombs of the Nobles.
Check in to hotel. The remainder of the day is free for leisure and independent activities. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 10:
Today starts with a half-day visit to Dendera by private car. Later transfer to the rail station in Luxor to take an overnight 1st Class Seating Train to Cairo (dinner and breakfast on the train). Optional flight to Cairo is available and overnight in Cairo.
Day 11:
Arrive early morning in Cairo and check in to hotel. Next is a visit to Old Coptic Cairo including the famous hanging church belonged to St. Mary, the Greek Monastery of St. George, St. Sergius Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue.
At the end of the day return to hotel or independent visit to the Khan El Khalili Bazaars. Shops in this district are legendary for fine brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, antiques and more! Overnight in Cairo.
Day 12:
This day starts early with a drive in a private A/C bus to Alexandria. Once there, a full day visiting Pompey’s Pillar, the Catacombs, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Citadel of Qait Bay and the Montazah Palace. At the end of the day check in to hotel and overnight in Alexandria.
Day 13:
This day starts early with a drive in a private A/C bus back to Cairo. In Cairo, a visit to the Sultan Hassan and Refaii mosques as time permits. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 14:
This day is free for leisure and independent activities in Cairo. An optional farewell dinner and show on one of Cairo’s famous floating restaurants is available and highly recommended as a great way to cap off your visit. A dayroom will be available at the hotel for freshening up in the afternoon and after the show.
Day 15:
Breakfast and check out of hotel. Assisted transfer to Cairo International airport for final departure.
